Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.

Filmed in Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon’s signature whimsical style, LOST IN PARIS stars the filmmakers as a small-town Canadian librarian and a strangely seductive, oddly egotistical vagabond. When Fiona’s (Gordon) orderly life is disrupted by a letter of distress from her 93-year-old Aunt Martha (delightfully portrayed by Academy Award nominee Emmanuelle Riva, AMOUR), who is living in Paris, Fiona hops on the first plane she can and arrives only to discover that Martha has disappeared. In an avalanche of spectacular disasters, she encounters Dom (Abel), the affable but annoying tramp who just won’t leave her alone. Replete with the amazing antics and intricately choreographed slapstick that have come to define Abel and Gordon’s work, LOST IN PARIS is a wondrously fun and hectic tale of peculiar people finding love while lost in the City of Lights.

In 1925, Percy Fawcett ventured into the Amazon in search of a myth. What he discovered became legendary.

Gloria (Anne Hathaway) drinks too hard and parties too much. Her boyfriend has enough of it and throws her out. Gloria returns to her hometown, dreaming of making a new start, but instead revives her childhood friendship with Oscar (Jason Sudeikis), who runs a bar. After drinking a night away with Oscar and his friends, he wakes up to discover a gigantic monster rampaging through Seoul and realizes that somehow the monster is connected to her.

National Library Week kicks off on this day so we’re ‘celebrating’ with this dystopian double feature that highlights the subversive power of fiction. In Michael Radford’s dark and frightening version of George Orwell’s novel, the late, great John Hurt plays Winston Smith, a middle class worker in Big Brother’s society who finds himself unable to quell his rebellious desires towards romantic love and an obsession with an unmodified past.

Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home in this sequel to “Trainspotting”, which picks up 20 years later. Directed by Danny Boyle.

A young African American man visits his European American girlfriend’s family estate where he learns that many of its residents, who are black, have gone missing, and he soon learns the horrible truth when another frantic African-American warns him to “get out”. He soon learns this is easier said than done.
